Distance is the reason people don't get care.

Not stigma alone, and not cost alone. In most of India the nearest psychiatrist is a day's travel and a month's wait away. TheraNext exists to remove that distance — and then to keep removing it, venture by venture.

The origin

CareMe Health started in 2017 because a practising doctor kept meeting the same patient: someone who had waited months, spent a day travelling, and arrived at a first appointment already exhausted by the process of getting there.

The obvious answer was to move the appointment onto a phone. The real work turned out to be everything that answer assumed existed and did not — a credentialed national network of clinicians, a way to match a person to the right one, a common standard of care held across thousands of sessions a month, and a price an ordinary household would actually pay.

We built all of it. TheraNext Health is the company that now holds that work and puts it behind the next venture, so the second one costs less than the first and the third costs less than the second.

Values are only real when they cost something. These have each cost us a growth number at some point.

    Clinical judgement leads

    Clinicians hold a veto on product decisions that touch care. When growth and clinical safety disagree, clinical safety wins and we go find another way to grow.

    Measured, or it didn't happen

    Every venture ships with an outcome instrument on day one. We would rather learn early that something isn't working than find out later from the churn curve.

  3. 03

    The last mile is the product

    Reaching someone in Coimbatore, in Tamil, at eleven at night, at a price they can pay — that is the hard part. Everything upstream of it is the easy part.

    Boring where it counts

    Privacy, consent, escalation and record-keeping are not where we innovate. We adopt the strictest reasonable standard and stop looking for a clever alternative.
